D. Hugh Kinsey, Jr., a native of Fort Myers, has practiced law in southwest Florida since 1992.  Hugh became a partner of the Sheppard, Brett, Stewart, Hersch & Kinsey, P.A. law firm in 2000.

Hugh holds Bachelor of Arts (1989) and Juris Doctor (1992) degrees from the University of Florida.  He practices primarily in the areas of real estate law, guardianship law, estate planning, and probate and trust administrations.

As a member of the Florida Bar Association (Probate, Real Estate and Guardianship Section) and the Lee County Bar Association, Hugh is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.  He is involved with several local philanthropic organizations, including the United Way of Lee County and The Southwest Florida Community Foundation.  Hugh enjoys a B-V rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Hugh is married to Terri, an administrator for the School District of Lee County. Together, they share a young daughter, Heidi, who keeps them busy. In his spare time, he enjoys running, fishing, golf, travel, skiing with the family and Gator football.
